Bullskin Township Historical Society was established in 1996. Our sole purpose and mission is to Restore and Preserve the Heritage and History of Bullskin Township for future generations. One of our current projects is the Stabilization and Restoration of the Historic Mount Vernon Iron Furnace located along Mounts Creek in Wooddale, PA.
We are also the hosts of the annual "Heritage & Community Days" which is held the first Saturday and Sunday in June. Since 1998 the festival has been held each year at the picturesque Bullskin Fairgrounds along Route 982 in Wooddale, PA.
New Members to our Society are ALWAYS welcome! We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at the "Stone Cabin" which is located at the Mount Vernon Furnace site. Throughout the year we are involved in a number of different activities which include Guest Speakers, Fund Raisers, Historical Field Trips, Summer Picnic, Christmas Banquet, and Heritage & Community Days!
We want to "Thank You" for visiting our site. Please visit often, we will update the site on a regular basis. New Historical Information and Photos will be posted as they come in. If you have anything you would like to share with us OR if you would like more information about our Society OR questions about becoming a Member, please email us or contact our President Mary Kay Gary at the number below.
A special "Thank You" goes out to everyone who has shared information or pictures with us. We appreciate your interest in our society and in preserving our townships history for future generations.
