 Wharton Iron Furnace

JULY 12, 2007

OUR GROUP TOOK A TRIP TO SEE THE RESTORED WHARTON IRON FURNACE THAT IS LOCATED NEAR MOUNT SUMMIT INN ON ROUTE 40.  THE FURNACE WAS RESTORED IN THE 1960'S BY THE FORT NESCESSITY LIONS CLUB.  WE GATHERED LOTS OF GOOD IDEAS TO USE FOR OUR FURNACE RESTORATION AND GROUNDS AREA.  WE ALSO VISITED THE FAYETTE IRON FURNACE NEAR NORMALVILLE, PA.  THIS FURNACE HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED.  WE HAD LUNCH AT GLISAN'S RESTAURANT.  EVERYONE HAD A GREAT DAY!
